Following on from the previous “Blues & Boogie Jamboree” shows I have hosted, I am delighted to welcome 3 fabulous American musicians to Aberdeen’s Blue Lamp for a new show entitled “Americana Meets The Blues”.
It will be a special evening of music featuring world class musicians playing Country, Rock, Folk, Blues & Swing. An evening of American Folk & Blues seasoned with Texas Rock ‘n Roll along with a generous smattering of Louisiana Cajun and soul.
Joining me are 3 wonderful musicians from the USA. These are:
Danny Britt from Austin, Texas. Danny’s guitar and voice and songs have been described as touching the pulse of the listener.
Patterson Barrett from Austin,Texas and Nashville, Tennessee is an incredible multi-instrumentalist who has performed and recorded with numerous stars. These include Buddy Miller, Nancy Griffith and playing to 10,000 festival goers as Chuck Berry’s pianist.
Brian Langlinais from Lafayette, Louisiana and Nashville, Tennessee music draws on the rich tapestry of his roots in Cajun, Soul, Blues, Country and Jazz.
Finally, of course myself, Aberdeen’s own Spider MacKenzie. I won’t be missing out on a chance to join in playing some heart-felt harmonica with these amazing musicians. Expect a wide range of styles of American music. From songs which will pull on your heart strings, through to music which insists you get up and shake your tail feathers to it.
